Owner of 2003 ford focus, car keeps needing a jump. Last time I did when the cables came off the car shut off?

The car lasted a couple of days the last time I jumped it. I believe It's just my battery but how would I know it has anything to do with my accelerator as well?

If its your accelerator when you push the gas pedal youll notice something different which has nothing to do with your battery. Most auto stores like Auto Zone or Orileys (sp) will test your battery for free. Also you may have loose wires on the battery or we one time had to replace the clamps on the battery because of corrosion. You can clean corrosion with part water and part baking soda or a can of coke. Also you may need to have your alternator checked.

Your accelerator has nothing to do with the charging system, or battery etc. As the battery should still be gaining enough power even at idle. It's the alternator & battery that counts. Your battery could be dead, and need replacing. You can get it tested at most auto stores. Either that, or your charging system is no good. It should read above 13V when the car is running, with a volt meter set to 20V and connected up to the battery. Easy DIY check. Worn, loose or corroded wires and connections / connectors can also cause problems such as these. Even a worn / loose alternator belt can effect the rate of charge, from what I've experienced in the past.
