I replaced the distributor and it is firing on the right, but not on the left any sugg?
I had to replace the distributor on my ford truck. Because it was shearing off. Now the truck won't start. We're getting fire on the drivers side, but not the passenger side. Any suggestions as to what we're doing wrong
What year? Model? Engine?
The only way I can see this even happening is with the individual coils on each spark plug. Is there a plug (or wires) you forgot to connect?
Its a 1977 400 ford motor with a new distributor in it. Do you think it might be the timing chain?
The timing chain is not involved in making all of the cylinders get spark. It sounds like a bad distributor cap.

- Right distributor for an engine? I have a 1978 ford Ranchero with a 351 midland in it and when I had the distributor changed my camshaft gears teeth broke so I got that fixed and then 8 months later with only putting exactly 1,067 miles into it the gears broke again and I'm pretty sure the distributor caused this because it had unusual scrap marks on the teeth so even though I might be wrong what's the right distributor for this type of engine
- 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
- Left Rear Wheel noise when taking a slight right turn? I have a noise coming from my back of my Ford Focus, ( woo woo woo ) for a while now, it's driving me crazy, I can only hear it when I'm in second or third gear when turning slightly to the right, also i just realized that when in star moving or my car is reversing for a second or two I can hear a squeeking noise. I lifted the car and checked the wheel and is moving freely with no noise whatsoever, it looked ok. I kind of run out of ideas can anyone give any suggestions please!
- F150 Ford, rain and humidity prevents starting. It's not the distributor or plug wires? It's not the distributor or the wires. Fuel pump is pumping? If it's already running when it's raining, it will continue to run just fine. It's definitely condensation somewhere?
