07 Ford Taurus jerking when accelerating after stops?
The car was jerking after being warmed up, and then I would be at a stop light. After accelerating, the car would drive normal, I'd watch the RPM's increase to almost 3 and then a hard jerk and then it kept going. Added Lucas Trans Fix and the jerking stopped but not the RPM's go past 3 and it shifts but sometimes makes a grinding noise. The Check Transmission light comes on after idling for a bit. Any idea what could be wrong?
The transmission is shot. Done. Kaput. Lucas is good stuff but there are limits to what it can do. That particular transmission is rather notorious for failing.
Check the fluid. It might be low or needs to be replaced.
- Why my car stops accelerating while driving? Have a Ford Fussion 2007. I was driving at about 40MPH and my car suddenly stops moving like if it was on neutral it accelerate by it self wth out moving even though it was on drive. I pulled over, turn it off and started again and it took me back home normally but now it did it again I took it to a mechanic and he put it in the computer but he says nothing is showing it seems that everything is ok but that car now is not moving! It only goes on reverse or low driving but not drive
- Car shakes still? My 94 Ford Taurus shakes on the highway. 65-80 mph and after 80 it stops? I've gotten new tie rods, a realignment, new breaks, and resurfaced rotors, and it still happens to shake even though the mechanic said that the problem was the rotors being warped. Before I spend more money on the damned thing I was wondering if anyone here had some insight to why it's still shaking on the highway. One thing I've noticed is that when I accelerate a chirping sound ensues and chirps faster as I go faster? Any ideas? Please?
- I have a 2004 Ford F150 and when the weather warms up the power steering stops working? When the weather is cold the power steering works fine but when the weather starts to warm up the power steering stops working the belt looks fine but if the pump was bad then why is power steering working just fine in the winter time
- My car is jerking randomly when driving. It is a Ford explorer 2000? I just had the fuel pump replaced because it very low fuel pressure and wouldnt accelerating. Now the car is jerking randomly most when going up a hill. There are no check engine codes! Any input would be nice!
