I have a 2001 f250 super duty. Trans and motor are good and strong. Motor Trans only problem is you have to manually pull it to low and shift it up manually. Need to know which sensor that could be.

I'm 21 and it will be my first vehicle and i don't know too much about diesels. It is a 2009 Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat Power Stroke Diesel 4X4 with 139,000 miles for $30,000. What would be the average MPG, what is the break-in mileage, what is the average mileage and what is high mileage? A lot of questions i know but like i said i don't know anything about diesels and i just want to make sure it is a good buy.

I'm also looking into getting a 1987 Ford F250 with the 6.9 IDI diesel, the prices I have found for some near me is around $1500-$2000
Which of these would be a better choice for a second vehicle? I know neither will get very good gas mileage, though the diesel will get better mpg than the gas 350 but, how about towing capability? I won't need to tow anything massive, probably nothing more than like a flatbed with 2-3 ATV s on it, but I d like to have the capability to tow something should the need arise, how would the Suburban fare against the F250?
