Is my car okay? Drove threw 3foot puddle of water?

Ford Mustang 2006 coupe. I drove threw a puddle of water, and i did not know it was going to make my car stall. It turned off and was submerged in the water for a good 4-5 minutes. I tried to turn my car on, but no go. 5 minutes have passed and the engine still did not turn on. 1 hour later: it seemed like it wanted to turn on, no. It seemed like it needed jumper cables. Made sounds similar to a dead battery, but with out the clicking sound.

any advice on how to care for it.
am i screwed?
what could be the damage? Cost repair.
any information would be helpful.

Threw is the past tense of throw.
You mean through.

Three feet would be up to your windshield!
Are you insane?!

Stop trying to start the car. Do not jump it.

Get the car OUT of the water.
Remove all of the spark plugs.
Crank it.
Put the spark plugs back in after you dry them (the inside part).
Water in the cylinders can crack the engine block!

Have somebody show you where your engine air intake is. Maybe 2.5 feet above the street.

This sounds like something that an aggressive female would do.
Or an ignorant, feminine male.

I hope you're just a troll.

If you're in water up to the bottom of your door, you're in too deep.

If you manage to get your engine running, and it's ok, get your rear axle fluid dumped and replaced.

No use trying to answer a fake questions, folks: no street car goes through 3 feet of water… Or is "submerged" for 4-5 minutes - then ready to go. Asker not real - stoner.

Sounds like you have hydro locked the engine and if you have bent a con rod your engine will need a total rebuild.

If you sucked water into the air cleaner you may have bent the connecting rods and need a new motor! You need to take all f the spark plugs out and crank the motor over to blow the water out of the cylinders. Then change the oil and filter. If the oil looks like a chocolate malt you may need to change the oil and filter 3 or 4 times to flush it out.

If it will crank over, id assume that the plug wires are wet and allowing for a short. If it won't crank, you pulled water in and now have hydraulic pressure keeping it from cranking.

  • What was the first car you ever drove? I'm bored so yeah what's the first car you drove. My first car was a modern Ford falcon series 3
  • Half quart over in oil, is that okay? 2005 Freestar. Thought it took almost 6 qts like my Duratec in my othrr Ford. Maybe half quart over and couple hundred miles from home on vacation. Should I buy a 15mm box wrench for a few bucks and drain it off, or is it not a big deal.
  • Why does water build up in water reservoir? Car is ford focus sedan 2003 1.6engine So we changed the water reservoir recently and now water builds up in the reservoir.
  • Drove over hill too fast and car is making a thumping noise? I have a 2003 ford focus. Today I was driving and went to make a turn fast and went up a hill and it hit my car and made a loud noise. When pulled up my car started making a thumping noise I thought that it was the tire but when I popped the good and accelerated while in drive the engine was moving up it's still running fine but moving and making a thump when accelerating. What could be wrong with it please help.
