Half quart over in oil, is that okay?
2005 Freestar. Thought it took almost 6 qts like my Duratec in my othrr Ford. Maybe half quart over and couple hundred miles from home on vacation. Should I buy a 15mm box wrench for a few bucks and drain it off, or is it not a big deal.

No it's not OK. That's why they have a dipstick. To make sure people set it correctly. As much over as you are I wouldn't be surprised if you sucked oil into the intake and gummed up the MAF sensor and ruined it.
I'd drain it. If it is over filled and starts frothing, kiss your engine goodbye. For $5, it is a couple thousand dollar insurance policy.
I put more than a half quart in my Honda Accord and it worked just fine. No need to worry.
- Why will my car half-crank, but not turn over? I have a 2004 ford taurus, with starting problem. Its not a no start no crank, but its also not a crank no start. Its more of a half-crank no start, and the HUD is displaying a low oil pressure reading but car is full of oil. The car does a half crank then just stalls out.

I have been noticing this for sometime, no visible leaks underneath, no drips either and I have been looking and checking pretty routinely, what would cause after a oil change for the car to consume 3/4 of a quart for the first 1000 miles and then basically stay at a 1.4 for another 4000 miles? Vehicle is 2006 Ford Taurus SE OHV 3.0 note. When I say a quarter. I'm talking about the 1/4 line (amount) on the dipstick from full to re-fill
