Would it be weird if I bought a full size van as my first car?
I'm 17 and I want to buy my first car. I'm used to driving SUVs and pickup trucks. I have always liked full size passenger vans. I like being able to haul things and customize it. I really like the 1992-97 Ford E150 XLT 7 passenger van. Would it be weird if I bought one as my first car?
Added (1). I'm talking about a van.
Kinda. But who cares?
Weird, kinda, but who cares?
The real issue is that it would be stupid and a waste of money. A Ford F150 of that age is all but guaranteed to be a used up money pit, not to mention the fortune that it will eat in gas.
SUVs are *awful* vehicles, driven by the stupid. And, pickups are, well, stupider, unless you really use one for work, like hauling things in it for which you get paid.
You would quickly learn how tyrannical car expenses can be. Gasoline costs, in particular are relentless.
If your a guy, then the father of your future girlfriend may be concerned.
No. Mike
- Solar panel on Ford E150 van JMC Tiara Package. Van came w own solar setup but its old and solar panel is tiny. Upgradn to 100w panel? Can I use the cables and solar meter etc (setup van came with) to power the renogy 100w panel? Or do I need to get bigger cables etc
- I just bought a 1990 Ford Ranger and it is doing something weird? As stated in the title I bought a 1990 Ford Ranger today and it had recently gotten some parts replaced including: Fly Wheel, Starter, tires and some others. But the problem is, when I'm stop and accelerate the whole truck shakes and jiggles and I'm not exactly sure what it is? Any comments help. It's a Ford Ranger 1990 Automatic 4wd. Also, I'm not sure if this is normal on these old of cars but when on the freeway going about 65 that's red lining it.
- Aren't you amazed by the capabilities and the size of today's full-size pickup trucks? I drive a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4x2 with a 4.0 liter V6 (~245 ci.) engine. I was looking up the specs for early-mid 1960s F100s (considered full-size), and they have nearly the same GVWR, towing capacity, payload, horsepower, wheelbase, and height as my "compact" truck. In your opinion, do you think today's full-size trucks are amazing or too fancy/over-sized (a traditionalist like me)? P.S.: I like all American vehicles
- Just bought a new truck, but wish I would have bought the Ford instead I put 8000 down and the first payment is due next week. Would it be wise to trade it just keep it for awhile?
