Why is my v 6 ford engine using water no leaks found?
If you are losing coolant and it's not leaking on the ground, you probably have a blown headgasket. Coolant is getting into the cylinder and going out the tailpipe.
Check under the front carpets the heater matrix may be leaking
Blown head gasket. Its probably going out the tail pipe. Do a compression test on each cylinder.
I would suspect the intake gasket
+1 for the headgasket. If you happen to have a Ford 3.8L or 4.2L Essex V6, it's more than likely a blown head gasket, as those engines were known for it.
- I have a 95 ford mustang that is leaking oil and coolant both appear to be separate leaks? The engine is a 3.8L v6. The car is difficult to start, usually on the 5th try it starts. After long periods of driving it stalls out and has to sit for a couple hours. It has a new TPS and a new idle air control valve and just had the oil changed
- Will it hurt an engine to have a half a cup of water in the engine oil? Its a ford fusion 2.5 i left the oil cap off and it started raining and water got in the oil. I already drove it about 95 miles. I drained it and at least half a cup of water was visible and the oil was strangly colored
- Why does water build up in water reservoir? Car is ford focus sedan 2003 1.6engine So we changed the water reservoir recently and now water builds up in the reservoir.
- Ford Focus - How much engine oil should my engine be using? I own a 2012 Ford Focus (Mark 3) 1.6 ti vct (petrol) with nearly 19 000 miles on the clock. How much engine oil (in mm) should this engine be using for how many miles of driving e.g. 500ml for 2000 miles of driving.
