Why is chevy considered more American than ford?

Why do a lot of people consider chevy a more American brand than ford, I'm not against chevy I just think that ford would be more "American" because it came first, and produced one of the first widely available cars to the American people. Not to offend any chevy lovers but ford did also not take a bailout and ford makes more parts in the USA trying to offend anyone but I'm just saying every city boy wanna be country boy drives a chevy truck and every classic car you hear about is usually a chevy not to mention you will rarely hear a song about a ford. Anyone know why?

It's not. Frankly all 3 are global companies. The sell & make cars world wide. What is so American about a Camaro made in Canada? What is American about Opel or Holden? Both GM products…
By the same token You can buy a Honda from Ohio or a Subaru from Indiana.

There's no truly "American" cars anymore.

Ford songs? Mustang sally, Hey little Cobra, Hot Rod Lincoln. Jaguar & Thunderbird, Mercury Blues.

In 1911 Swiss race car driver Louis Chevrolet founded the Chevrolet Motor Company in Detroit.

The Ford Motor Company was launched in 1903 by American industrialist Henry Ford.

Enough said.

I had a 1999 ford and on the inside of the car it said made in Mexico. But Mexico is in America, North America to be exact, so maybe that doesn't really matter. This battle has been going on for years, what is better Ford or Chevy, people were arguing this back in 1920. Never really was a clear cut answer just peoples opinions.

It's not really about the car, it's about the availability of parts for the vehicle you have and Chevrolet has the most available parts there are for vehicles, no matter how old it is. It's a preference that people tend to make.

It is now called Government motors.
