Why does my ford 302 have spark out of coil and nothing out of distibutor?

You either have a bad coil to distributor plug wire or the rotor in the distributor is bad.

Inside the distributor is a set of contacts (points). If the points are worn and not making a good connection it will not transfer the power. Also, the rotor mates with points on the inside of the distributor cap. If these surfaces are worn it won't transfer the spark. I'd change the points, rotor and distributor cap next. If it doesn't have points and is a magnetic type distributor, you may have to replace the whole distributor, however, this is uncommon. First make certain the negative cable from the battery has a good connection to the car frame. The car frame must be properly grounded to transfer a spark to ground.

Back in the day, the tune up for a car involved replacing everything under the distributor cap - points, condenser, and rotor. Those things are not meant to last forever. The distributor cap is inspected for small cracks. If you see any, replace it. If the car still runs rough or not at all, replace the distributor cap because it has a very small crack somewhere. Back in the day, all these parts were pretty inexpensive and changed semi-often.

Missing rotor is what I would look for first.
