Which US brand name car is better, Chevy or Ford?

I have 4 vehicles, 2 Chevys and two fords. One is a chevy blazer 97, another is a 1955 chevy truck 1st edition straight 6. And for the Ford's (which are technically my husband's) a Ford Expedition 01, and a 1951 truck mustang v8. And the older Ford always had a stater problem no matter what. And the newer one is just doing amazing. The older Chevy runs like a champ nothing wrong with it anytime. The newer chevy has been nothing but trouble. Chevrolet did great back in the day. But now they have been just slacking. Ford back in the day did ok but kept on improving on their problems.

Ford

Obviously Chevy. I will not allow a Ford on the place. Between my wife and I and the kids, we own 3 GMCs, 2 Buicks, 3 Chevys, and 3 Dodges or there abouts.

I own a Chevy Malibu and a Ford Ranger truck. I believe that they are equally good especially those built in the last five years.

To be honest, does it even matter anymore? Truck or car, they are in most aspects the same darn thing. If you buy a Chevrolet, you'll be just as happy as if you bought the Ford. Most answers on here will be biased.

Ford! American Muscle Baby!

Chevy sounds like a lame 1980s chewy candy bar!

FORD… First On Race Day

"Better" is a subjective term. The answer would depend on which models you're directly comparing and what your criteria would be to judge which brand is the better one.

Ford

The only Chevys worth getting are their utility products, such as vans, truck, and SUVs. Even then, reports of people losing their brakes due to rusted brake lines should give many pause as to whether a new Silverado is worth the risk. Any cars from Chevy will fair chance of being hot garbage within a few years due mysterious problems that crop out from nowhere.

Both brands have shipped their fair share of mediocre vehicles that are best bought by those who have a mechanic's touch.

I was an auto glass technician for over 12 years and had to do rain leaks in all makes and models, american made vehicles leaked like crazy straight from the factory or soon after purchase whereas foreign made vehicles almost NEVER leaked.

According to me the "Chevy" is best and world famous US car brand.Which US brand name car is better, Chevy or Ford - 1

Ford for me.

1978 ford f250 single cab

Ford is a little bit better I would say

Both are great brands but Chevy is better.

Both built in Mexico, but Ford is built by better Mexicans.

Sorry to disappoint you but these US automobile manufacturers have sources from outside the USA. Many engines are made elsewhere and some models assembled in Canada and Mexico. As to the "brand," since each produces many models each year and changes many aspects of many models you might be better off asking about a specific year, brand and model of vehicle than to generalize into the brand name. I have purchased my first Ford product several years ago, a three year old 2008 Mercury Mariner hybrid SUV. It has been the only car I have had to had rust repaired. THE only one. The hybrid system was licensed by Toyota and cheapen by Ford with an ordinary catalytic converter that requires the engine to run very often in cold weather to keep the chemicals inside in working temperature. Toyota uses a better cat converter that does not require any specific temperature. The water pump for the battery drive system has been recalled due to severe failure rate. Mine failed two years ago. The recall is to "inspect" the pump, not to replace them. Is that a recall? I do not agree. The ABS system needed two new pin sensors that broke off. Other than that the car works in an excellent way. However, I owned a 2003 Infiniti QX4 for seven years and 100,000 miles. This vehicle never needed repairs, just service, brakes, tires, shocks, battery. This car never ever broke. Amazing vehicle. When I sold it to get the hybrid it look new, it drove new and it needed nothing. The Chevy brand has had issues with paint, brakes, etc. Overall issues with GM products. So, look for specific year and models of Chevy and Ford and narrow down your search.

If you get a new car its a toss up i think they will both last 10 years GET WHAT you LIKE
