Looking to buy a car privately which hasn't been serviced in 4 years but only 9000km (they bought the car brand new)?
As above.
the car is a Ford EcoSport 1.5 titanium
it has 9000km only but they say they've never had it serviced?
should I stay away from this car?
Added (1). also, since there's no service history could this be a case of odometer roll back fraud?
Ask your mechanic. But, I suspect its probably ok. I knew of a honda with about 36,000 miles that blew an engine because they never changed the oil. And price always matters.
9000 km is barely used so don't worry too greatly about it. Just get it serviced as recommended by Ford. I drive twice that distance every year and have not had a problem with my 6 year old vehicle
If the car test drives OK and the price is right the missing service should not deter you because of the negligible mileage.
It's fine, get an oil change and check the tire pressure after you buy it.
I would beat them up on the price due to the lack of service - and would highly suggest taking it to a mechanic to have them give it a once over.
Lack of use over time can be almost as bad as overuse.
I wouldn't want that car. They dogged it and dumped it.
- Just bought a new truck, but wish I would have bought the Ford instead I put 8000 down and the first payment is due next week. Would it be wise to trade it just keep it for awhile?
- If Ford really thought she was assaulted then why hasn't she contacted the Maryland police, they said last week they would investigate? If she did. Wouldn't that have but a crimp in Kavanaugh's confirmation to be the subject of a criminal investigation for sexual assault? Why hasn't she reported it to the police?
- I just bought a ford fusion yesterday, and as soon as we bought it they notified us of a recall on it? Does anyone know of other recalls on this vehicle that we need to know about? the recall they just fixed was the most recent one with the power steering
- I bought a new ford focus sel hatchback with 29 miles, after 3 weeks the battery died and they replaced it with a new one. It died again? Can they trade my car for another one. I'm not gonna keep paying for a car that don't work. It has 300miles now
