What type of engine oil and transmission fluid should i use for a 72 ford maverick?
I bought a 4 door, straight 6 cylinder 72 maverick for $500, (it wasn't runnin is why it was so cheap), just got it runnin, (i replace the fuel filter & fuel pump), it needs an oil change and it need transmission fluid and i wanna know what type of oil and transmission fluid to buy for it
Use a cheap synthetic like walmart brand, and change the oil out once a week foe the first month, then use Mobil 1 10w-30. The transmission uses Type-F fluid, and definitely add Lucas Transmission Oil treatment after the fluid change. Do a complete Fluid flush of the transmission. Do not leave any old fluid in there - it is totally degraded if it has sat for a long time.
