How is the fluid from my radiator on my 1996 Ford Thunderbird mixing with my auto transmission fluid?

I've asked and asked and no one seems to have an answer. Please any ideas would be helpful to give me some sort of clue as to where to start to get this fixed. The car still runs fine but its starting to effect the gears changing. Please any ideas would help.

The radiator can sometimes contain an ATF fluid cooler (its inside the radiator) sounds like this has a small hole in it… You should NOT drive it until you fix it. It can ruin your transmission

The radiator is the only place they meet. The trans cooler is in the radiator.

There's a leak between the internal transmission cooler in your radiator and the engine coolant portion of your radiator.

To stop the CAUSE of the problem, you'll need a radiator repair/replacement.

Sequential damage would be my concern. In many cases, coolant in the transmission fluid can cause failure of the transmission clutches.
