What's going on with my 2002protege5?
I bought it on cl a few days ago and it seemed to run fine and the lady seemed extremely nice. Then I noticed… When going from 2nd to 3rd gear there's the slightest hesitation… But this morning i drove it and it completely stopped accelerating before it made it to 2nd gear so I had to pull over. It worked fine after that but scared me so I brought it to a transmission shop. They said its fine it only slips a little when going from 2nd to 3rd and I'd have to replace my transmission. I took it to another shop and they said everything was fine and it shifts on time… What's going on? I'm annoyed and stressed because I feel like I wasted 3 grand when I knew these transmissions were pos! Screw ford transmissions
It's not the transmission! You need new coil packs and plug wires, a very common problem on these.

- Where is my antifreeze going if no leak? I have a 2002 ford focus zts that i have to add antifreeze to every week or two. Its not going into the engine, changed the oil and it was clean oil… Not leaking from exhaust pipe, not leaking from anywhere. Thermostat has already been changed… Where is it going I looked at everything, no smell in car, no wet spots on carpet, outside of car does smell like antifreeze after running for awhile. Oil is cleaner than ever, no bubbles. I think i'll go have a pressure test done
- Car check help before going long journey (new car owner)? Hi. I had just bought a new Ford Fiesta. This is my very first car that I owned. Previously, I would be driving a car that would be checked by my brother every time we travel on a long distance journey. Now I would be maintaining the car myself. I would like to find out what do I need to check and how could I do those checks on my car before starting my journey. The only thing I'm aware of checking are tire pressure.
