Which car is a better car for a teen?

I'm an 18 year old male and I currently have a truck. I can't afford to own or drive this truck. I don't really need a full-size medium duty pickup. I'm not hauling or towing anything with it. I'm trying to sell it and get something that gets better gas mileage. I prefer mid-size sedans. I don't have a lot of money and it's not going to be brand new. It will probably be from the 90s. I prefer either a Ford or Chevy. I've narrowed it down to 2 cars I like that are it my price range. The first car is a 1993 Ford Taurus Station Wagon with 80,000 original miles and a flawless body. I love station wagons. The other is a 1993 Chevy Lumina 4-door sedan. It doesn't say the exact mileage but, says it's high. They also said it has a new motor. The body is also flawless. Which car should I pick and why?

Added (1). I'm liking the wagon more because I can still haul some things in the back and tow small things if needed.

Added (2). @ Caleb, that's EXACTLY what I thought. I'll get to have more versatility with the wagon than the truck.

I say to hell with the two choices i think a powder blue prius would be perfect.

I would go with the wagon myself. Parts for the Taurus should be more plentiful and you can haul more stuff with the wagon vice the sedan.

The station wagon will probably be cheaper on insurance for you. I would wonder why the Chevy required a new engine to be put in, possibly abuse by the previous owner, or really high miles.

  • What's the best car for a new teen driver? I'm going to be getting my first car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of car would be best for a 16 year old girl! I'm not too picky on the model and I just wanted to know what would be best, most affordable choice for me right now.
  • Is this a good car for a teen? I'm an 18 year old male and I currently have an old truck. It has issues that are too expensive to repair. It also uses way too much gas. I really don't need a full-size medium duty truck. I've been looking for something else. I will prpbably spend $800-$1500. I found a 1993 Ford Taurus Station Wagon for $1200. It's in perfect shape and has only 80,000 miles. I really like this car. Would this be a good car? I prefer older cars.
  • Best kind of car for teen? Right now i have a 2000 ford taurus and it has gotten so much work into it everything is brand new but i'm getting tired of fixing it. I was thinking of buying a pontiac g6. But i was wondering if there are any other cars that are better for around $4000
  • Which is better? 1995 ford ranger which is stick or a 2004 Ford Escape? I'm a 16 year old boy and I'm lucky enough to have those two cars to choose from. Both have high mileage, like 350k on the ranger and 250k for the escape. Both have been serviced to a T. I really don't know which car would be best in the Long run. Meaning I don't know which one is most reliable and which one would be best for me and my use of maybe hauling my friends around. So which one do you think is the best choice?
