Where would I pour head gasket leak seal in 2000 Ford Taurus?
Looking to seal up in leaks and planned on pouring the fluid into the coolant resevoir.
Take the radiator cap off. Start the car, if the fluid goes down add that stuff right there. If the fluid don't go down drain some out, then add it. Don't put it in the resevoir tank. Your car might never get.
You pour it on the ground, along with the money in your wallet. Sorry, but there's no "Fix It In A Can" or "Repair In A Bottle". Save your money and do it right. How do you know its a headgasket? Leak down test? What fluids appear to be missing?
Are you reselling the car? Then put directly in radiator. Even if you must remove top hose and pour down that way. I know some cars no longer have radiator caps.
Keeping car? DON'T do it. This band aid is good just long enough to make you wish you'd never done it. Properly replace head gasket and get head check for cracks. Which is what I'm doing next week to my 91 Explorer 4.0. Which are known to have gasket problems.
Replace the gasket with gasket glue
That stuff doesn't work. Actually it clogs coolant passage ways and creates more problems and is extremely difficult to get out.
Anywhere you like. It won't work if the gasket has failed
Remove the radiator cap and place another car under it.
- How long will it take to put a head gasket in a 2000 ford taurus? Just need to know cuz my husband is workin on one for someone else so he can charge them the right price
- Can I pour head gasket sealer into my coolant tank? I have a 2002 Mercury Sable (Ford Taurus) with coolant leaking from the head gasket. There's no actual radiator cap or hose for me to access with the Blue Devil head gasket sealer I have. Will it work if I put it into my coolant tank?
- Looking for your opinion So I'm a mechanic i replace my head gasket on my 1996 ford ranger 2.3 gasket the head bolts the hole 9 yards I torqued the head 51 to 90 ft pounds and the sequence was 51 to 60 to 80 90 so I don't know if i should re torque head bolts or leave it? - My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
