How long will it take to put a head gasket in a 2000 ford taurus?
Just need to know cuz my husband is workin on one for someone else so he can charge them the right price
Call any Ford dealership, ask for the maintenance department, and then ask what the "flat rate" estimate is for labor. They have a book that gives "flat rate" times for doing various tasks. This is not to say that your husband can do it in that amount of time, but it is a ballpark figure.
I did a 96 Taurus (3.0 V6) in 3 days. I wasn't able to disconnect the exhaust pipes from the manifolds, so I had trouble wrestling them into place once I had the heads re-installed. That probably cost me half a day of work.

- Looking for your opinion So I'm a mechanic i replace my head gasket on my 1996 ford ranger 2.3 gasket the head bolts the hole 9 yards I torqued the head 51 to 90 ft pounds and the sequence was 51 to 60 to 80 90 so I don't know if i should re torque head bolts or leave it? Hi I have just put a new headlight connector onto my 2000 ford fiesta as the old one was not allowing the electric adjustment to work. I connected all of the wires (new and old) to their matching colours and now the whole unit isn't working, when i striped back the black tape covering the wires i came across three purple and white wires that didn't seem to fit anywhere, are these important and should they be connected to something.
