My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak?
It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long.
I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
You took it to a mechanic who actually SAW the vehicle and made a diagnosis, but you want us to tell you something different?
Okay, it's quite possibly the connection at the coolant quadrant on the muffler bearing lock-out device. No problem. That is repaired with duct tape. Takes about 5 minutes, and any mechanic will do it free of charge!
Hi till the leak is fixed it is never going to work properly. The heater will never actually give any heat either.
- Will a 2000 Ford Windstar lx fuse box diagram be the same as a 2003 Ford Windstar fuse box? I found a link about a 2003 but I need to know if it'll be the same for a 2000. If it ain't can anyone help me out with a link showing information like this but about a 2000 model? Thanks. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t11808484-2003_ford_windstar_fuse_box_diagram
- My 99 ford Taurus has a milky brown fluid in the coolant tank. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? The engine oil is fresh, with no milky color. It is an amber brown. the tranny fluid is pink/red my car will start, however it will not leave park. The gear shift will move but the car will not leave park. someone said it could be my head gasket however the car NEVER ran hot nor did it have any white smoke. ill take any suggestions or help offered.
- 2002 ford taurus coolant bubbling out of coolant tank cap? Coolant is bubbling out of the tank cap on my taurus. The coolant is a bit over the fill to line. The coolant is the normal green color. I don't think it having a bit of extra coolant in the tank is doing this. The cap itself maybe? I just bought this car and it didn't do this until today.
- My car is making noise when I turn the wheel, what could be causing it? I put power steering fluid in and double checked it to make sure it was full, which it is. But whenever I turn the wheel it still makes a terrible noise, i almost want to not drive it anymore just because of that noise. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Is it the power steering pump maybe? If it helps, my car is a 2001 Ford Mustang, FWD. The noise is coming from the front of the car.
