What is wrong with my antifreeze? 1998 Ford Taurus?
When messing with my power steering, I noticed my antifreeze was low on a used car I just bought. So, naturally, I added antifreeze. Later that day, I lifted up the hood to find that the antifreeze had coagulated and sprayed all up under my hood. I wasn't over heating and I tried to flush all of the bad stuff out by disconnecting the hoses and spraying water into the resevoir. It seemed to get a lot of that out, but I know I need to figure it out before the cold weather hits. It hasn't overheated not once. And I haven't put any water in it since then either. Why would it foam up and spray everywhere?!
Sounds like you have a clogged radiator core. Get the flush and fill kit from Autozone, and go from there. You really need to clean it out, and replace it with fresh antifreeze. It sounds like the previous onwer did not take care of the car all too well.
Well I believe your right. I bought it from my 76 year old grandmother who swears up and down she didn't put tranny fluid in the power steering, which i know is acceptable but she wouldnt even admit she did it
It could be throwing up stop leak. Keep monitoring it.
The specified correct ford fluid for p/s is type F.
Any trans or p/s fluid will work after reading the label.
Audi was the only one i ever saw that used some strange spec.

- Water instead of antifreeze? Ford, gt500? My radiator has cracked and it spits out all the antifreeze. Don't have money to buy radiator at this moment so an I fine just putting water in it for a while. When I was refilling with antifreeze it would be empty within two days. Is it ok to just keep refilling it with water?

So, I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and it was 0psi. So, I pulled the bed off right quick and checked the voltage to the pump. The first pin had 5v, middle pin has 0v, and the last pin had 5v. I checked the relay and it was good… Any ideas on where else to look?
