What is a good first car?

I just got my license and I have finally saved up the money to start looking for my first car. My parents will help me so my budget is under $2500. What kind of car should I get? I don't want what everyone else has I want something fun and cool so no ford Taurus, Honda accord, or Honda civic. I want a good sporty car from the 90s but I'm not sure which ones to look at. I have a job so I have money coming in so I would like to customize it as the years with it go by. If you know of any good reliable 90s sport cars please tell me.

The Mazda Miata is one of the most reliable sports cars you can buy. Many people report getting more than 300,000 miles on them.

But you may have a lot of trouble finding one for under $5,000.

If your car budget is that low, you probably do not have a lot to spend on insurance for it. As g stated, a sports car is going to be more expensive to insure than a practical sedan. Also, since you just got your license, you will be considered a high-risk driver so your rates will already be rather high. If you are a student, you may be able to save money on insurance with a good-grade discount, but still, it's going to cost you.

A fun, sporty car is great and all, but for a first car for a new driver on a limited budget, you are much better off going with "what everyone else has." --- There's a good reason that's what they are all driving!

Honda crx or nissan 240sx or if you got $45,000 an acura nsx

Toyota Corolla
Toyota Camry
Mazda 3

Nissan 300z it's the model before the 350zx so PROS: it's fast, sexy and relatively cheap CONS: Be ready to put in as much cash fixing and maintaining, gas will cost you as well as insurance due to it being a sports car.
Another suggestion: a Bronco 2-door is bad *** and can take you anywhere. Again, big engine=lots of gas $
Check out auto trader and do a custom search for things you KNOW you want, ie: power windows, V6 engine or automatic transmission and just go from there. Have fun!

$2500 is a small amount. You can find a small car or pickup truck.

You are going to be extremely limited if $2500 is your price ceiling. You also have to think about insurance coverage. If you are under 18 years of age the vehicle will have to be added to your parent's insurance policy. And in general, "sport cars" will be more expensive to insure.

  • I'm in high school and about to get my first car looking for a loud, fast and good looking car So far I have looked into ford mustangs, I have a choice between a 2007 ford mustang gt with a 8 cylinder motor with automatic transmission, or I can get a 2013 mustang v6. My question is which of the two cars is a faster and louder car cause I would like to show it off and have heads turn by its engine as I drive off on the street. Thank you very much about to get my first car looking for a loud, fast and good looking car?
