Estimating costs for vehicle repair?
I took my 1999 Ford Taurus in for a checkup and found out I needed the front 2 rotors and sway bars replaced. There's also a water leak in the reservoir, and I was curious if anyone could give an estimated price range as to what this would all cost. The place that I took it to says it would be around 580-ish to get it fixed up.
Added (1). The price only worries me because the place was a just a local shop my dad took it to while I'm out of state for a couple of weeks. I intend to get it price checked at other places like NAPA and Midas when I get back, but I'm not sure if small/local shops charge more for this kind of stuff.
Depends where you take it 450- 500 so 580ish is in the ballpark as well
Sway Bars do not wear out, but the bushing do (sometimes). The kits are $25 + labor. Rotors, maybe $60 each. Water leak? I don't know.
Seems like a lot of money to me.
Just for kicks, look up the part prices on NAPA, except the reservoir.
I agree with Brod. Sway bars don't wear don't wear out. Take it somewhere else and get another estimate.
