2004 Ford Taurus heater core lines are leaking coolant?

Added (1). I was told today after an oil change and anti-freeze flush that my Taurus is leaking coolant from the heater core lines. I read that heater cores are very expensive to replace and am wondering if replacing just the lines is possible. Am also wondering how much that would cost

Added (2). Rephrasing my question (in case there's any confusion): Can I replace JUST heater core lines without having to replace the heater core? If so, how much will that cost?

You might want to get that fixed at a dealer, summer is coming!

I suspect that you were at some sort of quick service Biffee Loob sort of place where their purpose in life is to upsell services. My experience with the "techs" that work in those places is that they are less than experienced and I wouldn't even let them change my oil.

If the "mechanic" actually said "heater core lines" he/she has no idea what they are talking about.

The leak is either in the heater hoses or the heater core. If the "mechanic" pressure tested the system, he would know EXACTLY what was leaking and what the estimate to repair would be.
