How long does it take to install a heater core in a 2005 Ford Freestyle?
I have a Ford Freestyle 2005 and i was wondering how long it should take my mechanic to the job?( Labor hours)
Several hours, due to the fact the dash of the Ford has to be pulled. Expect to pay upwards of $600 or more for the job.
Any of these newer vehicles are a pain to do cause the complete dash assembly has to be removed to gain access to it
Even though you can see the heater core plenum under the dash, and it sounds absurd, it is impossible to open the stupid thing without removing the entire dash.
Combine that with the way they design modern car interiors with every fastener and clip hidden, and if any of it breaks or doesn't get put back together correctly the interior will look shoddy and will vibrate when driving - and you are talking about a pretty serious undertaking.

When I start it in morning (even in this warm weather) the windshield will steam up and it smells like anti freeze in the cab and motor gets hot fast. That is the heater core right?
