Should I buy a fixer upper?
I'm 14 and I'm starting to worry about driving and getting a truck and so I was on kijiji and found a ford f-100 that comes with 2 extra "parts trucks" and started thinking of the classic storys of guy finds car in the woods and builds it from the ground up so I think that I would be up for the challenge with of course a little help from my dad and uncle and grand father but i don't know if it's a good investment for 2500$ an if so do you think that I will be able to get the money in about one year of work
Also I would like to know if you fixed up a car or truck for your first car
Cars are not investments and you probably don't have the talents needed not to mention you would have extra parts trucks sitting around.
It would be fun, but it will get way more expensive then your expecting.
- Why would people buy a Toyota Hilux when they can buy a better, superior Ford Ranger? I owned a 2010 Toyota Camry and it broke down in 2011 upon reaching 0.6k miles. I treated it like a baby and it failed and disappointed me. My friend also owned a 2008 Toyota Tacoma and it failed to start in 2009 upon reaching 8k miles. And the mechanic said it was impossible to fix. However, my uncle has a 1965 Ford Falcon with over 750k miles on its clock and it still runs like new and he never even changed its oil since he bought it.
- My upper radiator hose is hot and the bottom one is cold, is this a problem? I recently replaced the thermostat and new antifreeze. The top side of the radiator (upper hose area) is very hot, the opposite side (lower hose) is cold. Truck is not overheating, it has great heat, I would sweat to death if I left it on too long. 2003 Ford Ranger 4 Cyl 2.3
- Just had new heads and gaskets installed on Ford Ranger 4.0, along with thermostat and radiator cap. After reaching operating temp, upper? Radiator hose swells to full capacity as if it can't handle more pressure. After engine cools off, hose returns to normal size. Should this be happening?
