My upper radiator hose is hot and the bottom one is cold, is this a problem?
I recently replaced the thermostat and new antifreeze. The top side of the radiator (upper hose area) is very hot, the opposite side (lower hose) is cold. Truck is not overheating, it has great heat, I would sweat to death if I left it on too long. 2003 Ford Ranger 4 Cyl 2.3
Thermostat is directly under the upper hose… Which tells you the direction of flow is from engine, thru thermostat, into upper hose and to radiator… After which, the now cooled fluid returns to engine via the lower hose.
sounds normal to me.
No. It means the radiator is working.
The whole idea of a radiator is to cool the fluid. Obviously the contents going away from the radiator need to be cooler than that coming in. DILBERRY!
- Just had new heads and gaskets installed on Ford Ranger 4.0, along with thermostat and radiator cap. After reaching operating temp, upper? Radiator hose swells to full capacity as if it can't handle more pressure. After engine cools off, hose returns to normal size. Should this be happening?
- What could be the problem if the coolant drains fast and once it drains out the heater doesn't get hot? There's also a smell to it, and the coolant only last for about 2 days… What culd the problem be for a 2010 ford mustang
- My ford ka blows out hot air even when the dial is placed on cold(the blue bit)? This has been happening for the last couple of days also the cigarette lighter stopped working at the same time
- One shop tells me hose is kinked, another says bad wheel bearing, what is going on? Someone mentioned we should replace the wheel because it was warped, we replaced the wheel. We then had the same issue and shop mentioned we need to replace wheel bearing. We shopped around and went to another shop that said wheel bearing is fine, but the brake hose is kinked. They state that the kinked brake hose is causing the wobble sound… 2007 Ford Fusion SE
