Max tire size for a 78 F150 Ranger?
I've got a stock 78 Ford F150 Ranger and wanted to know what is the biggest tire I can put on there? I'm looking for an All-Terrain tire for this truck. The previous owner had the 33/10.50-15 on there and just wanted to see if I can go bigger as far as the tire goes.
33's are about the practical limit without a lift. Also keep in mind the taller the tire, the worse your effective gearing will be and the worse the performance of the truck will be, assuming you didn't regear it.
- Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
- What tire size can I put on my Ford Ranger? I've got a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd 3.0 v6 and as far as I know it's all stock. Currently it has 225/70r16 fuzion tires on the rear and some 225/60/r16 tires on the front. I want to put new all terrain tires on it and wanted to go bigger so I was thinking like 235/75r16 or something like that so would they fit or what is a bigger tire I can put on without making any other mods to the truck? Also I would be getting all terrains too. Any help is appreciated
