Best tire brand and size for 2013 mustang?
I have a 2013 V6 Ford Mustang and i have 18x8 wheels on all four. I would like to get a wider stance as well as have a tire that is a good brand for traction. So what brands should I shop for and What's the ideal size
Well, it would help if we knew which trim level of Mustang you had, or at the very least the sizes of the current tires. You can look them up yourself at this website:
You can also get alternate compatible tire sizes for your car at the above website.
As for traction, are you talking about winter snow traction, or just dry weather summer traction? Brand names don't matter, it's the tread patterns that determine winter traction. Summer traction is even less important.
The ideal size is the size Ford used on the car when new.
The tire size the engineers and designers at Ford scientifically determined would give your Mustang the best possible handling, stability and control.
On a 18 inch tire and wheel set up 235/50ZR18 97W was determined to be ideal. There are dozens of tire models and brands available in that size.
Are you looking for a high performance style tire, Chance? If so, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ would be the best quality tire currently available. However, it is expensive at nearly $200 a tire.
However, if you are looking for an affordable top-quality tire with load of "traction" the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 is by far your best bang for the buck choice.
Lastly, you state that you "would like to get a wider stance". Why? For the looks? If you go with a wider tire than recommended on your Mustang you lose tons of handling and responsiveness characteristics for the sake of look. Bad idea, if you wish your Mustang to be able to perform as intended.
Michelin is one of the best brands. Not entirely sure what they have for performance tires.
- Can I swap 15 inch tire an rim with a 16 inch tire an rim? The rims an tires are off a dodge van, they are 5 hole rims, the car I want to put them on is a ford taurus with a 16 inch tire on it.
- Best tire size for ranger? For a 3 inch body lift on a 06 ford ranger, what's the best tire size, 32" 33"? Opinions, websites with good deals, any information will be greatly appreciated
- Aren't you amazed by the capabilities and the size of today's full-size pickup trucks? I drive a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4x2 with a 4.0 liter V6 (~245 ci.) engine. I was looking up the specs for early-mid 1960s F100s (considered full-size), and they have nearly the same GVWR, towing capacity, payload, horsepower, wheelbase, and height as my "compact" truck. In your opinion, do you think today's full-size trucks are amazing or too fancy/over-sized (a traditionalist like me)? P.S.: I like all American vehicles
- Out of ford, GMC, Chevy and ram which is the best in safety, interior size and reliably? I want to get a tuck for my first vehicle but don't have any family who own any and most opinions on reviews are extremely bias.
