Is 235,000 miles to many for a 1994 Ford Ranger?

I'm looking into buying a small truck and I found one that looks to be in great condition but the only thing that concerns me is the mileage on it. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this vehicle? They are wanting $1,700 for it.

Can the seller provide proof of all service and maintenance receipts? If so, the Ford has potential. However, it's current market value is around $1100 to $1500, tops.

Have a mechanic look at it if it's not a SOHC 4.0. If it is a SOHC 4.0 walk away, you need to remove the engine to do the timing chains and they will be due soon. One of the chains is on the BACK of the block. The 3.0 is the best engine for that truck

Sohc 4liter not available 94 model year just regular 4.0 either way if the engine and trans havnt been rebuilt they are at the end of there life span

That would be a lot for any car really

unless a ton of stuff has all ready been replaced I would expect things to start wearing pretty soon.
