The older fords numbered their cylinders in a straight line.
V8 left side from front to back 1-2-3-4, Right side 5-6-7-8
If your Ranger is a 6 cylinder I would say from front to back, 1-2-3-4-5-6
If it is a 4 cylinder, you might look in the glove compartment or maybe the Trunk/Bed
Middle one on the driver's side.
I'm guessing you are getting a misfire code. You can try swapping fuel injectors too.
- Would bad spark plug wires cause a check engine light? I just changed the valve cover gasket on my car. Then when I tried to start it, it started violently shaking and the check engine light turned on. The only thing I could think is that maybe the spark plug wires broke when I took them off. Would that cause a check engine light? It's a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with 150000 miles
- I have a 1976 Ford F150 with a 390 engine. Can anyone tell me what the spark plug gap should be? Don't answer if you don't know. And don't answer if you are just trying to be a wise guy.
- My car won't accelerate after a spark plug change? So I changed my spark plugs bit now my car won't accelerate I have a ford escape 06 3.0. While I was changing my spark plugs I unplugged a few hoses from the intake manifold but I plugged them all back in right. I'm gonna put the old spark plugs back to see if they were defective. Is that a possibility? The car turns on but when I step on the gas it won't accelerate at all. But it moves at 2 - 5mph of course. What are other possibilities for this kind of problem.
- 2005 Ford Freestyle .After changing the power steering line It had check traction control, check transmission display message.engine rev'd? I did some research and checked and replaced front speed sensors. It also had a broken sway bar link on passenger side which was replaced. It seems to not come out of 2nd gear. Sometimes shifts hard into Drive. Would a computer part need reset after the power steering line was replaced?
