My car won't accelerate after a spark plug change?

So I changed my spark plugs bit now my car won't accelerate I have a ford escape 06 3.0. While I was changing my spark plugs I unplugged a few hoses from the intake manifold but I plugged them all back in right. I'm gonna put the old spark plugs back to see if they were defective. Is that a possibility? The car turns on but when I step on the gas it won't accelerate at all. But it moves at 2 - 5mph of course. What are other possibilities for this kind of problem.

Is a check engine light on? Did you gap the plugs right? Are YOU SURE, you reconnected the hoses correctly? If it has coil packs, did you make sure they are seated properly?

Well did you remember to take the Spark Plug Gaping tool and gap the plugs out correctly? You always have to remember to gap them because if not the performance of your vehicle will not perform correctly.

  • Car won't accelerate, but rpms increase? I replace my alternator on Saturday and starting that same day my car has had problems accelerating. When I hit 10mph, the rpms shoot to 4000 and I have to ease off the gas pedal. Occasionally this is accompanied by a groaning noise. I made sure that the connections to the alternator were secure, but I'm not sure what the problem could be. The car is a 1997 Ford Taurus. I would really appreciate any advice.

I just noticed the 3 plug wired on the passenger side were burnt so I imagine its spark knocking. But my question is what plugs should I use and is this my only problem causing the rough idle?
