I'm having issues with my 2001 Ford Ranger?
I recently drove to the store and got on the gas a good bit. After doing so, the O/D OFF light started flashing. I've had this issue before but this time my truck was refusing to move when I gave it gas. When I had it in drive it did almost nothing. I had to put it in first gear to go anywhere. It would barely move in reverse either so I had trouble getting out of my parking spot. I'm just wondering what exactly could the problem be here? As much as I hate to say it I'm sure it's something wrong with the transmission. Any other possibilities?
I'll bet you've been driving with the CEL lit for months! The problem is you've been ignoring the warning and didn't go to have the codes read to see what was wrong. Now it's at the point you've done enough damage the motor won't run. When the transmission has problems with the electrical control system the vehicle goes into fail safe mode and you only would have 3rd and reverse gears until it was fixed. That doesn't sound like a tranny problem! A person that doesn't even know enough to get their vehicle looked at should not be trying to play mechanic and guess!
If it is just the OD light flashing Its your trans Ford used that light to indicate any problems with the trans When it blinks its trying to alert you of that The check engine light is not directly linked to the trans so they used the indicator light for the OD lockout button So you are correct You have a trans issue not a motor issue

- Having issues on troubleshooting my wife's 2000 Ford Contour SE V6 2.5 DOHC? After driving for about 3-4 miles it starts to jerk and loose power. Almost as if someone is hitting you from the back. It's not throwing any codes or making the check engine light come on so that tells me it can't be major. I hope. I have changed the fuel filter, added Techron concentrated fuel treatment, changed the (CPS) camshaft position sensor, changed the oil and filter. I also replaced the air filter and cleaned the MAP sensor. What else can it be? Someone please help.
- I'm having issues with my 2012 ford focus heater? I'm running my heater for over 20 minutes on my way to school and by the end of my drive one of my 4 vents is blowing luke warm air, the other 3 are blowing cold like the A/C. In March or April i had my radiator replaced and my coolant was flushed. I read that the hot coolant is what heats up something to blow the hot air? Also read that when the coolant is flushed it may clog something up which stops it from blowing hot air.
- 2001 ford escort blower issues? I have a 01 escort I just recently bought and it has been sitting for 2 years. I've drove it for a couple days and the air and heat worked great in it until one morning it quit blowing. Did my blower go out or what? Any suggestions before I start ripping things apart?
