I would imagine you have a problem with fuel delivery. You may also have a bad/undercharged battery. I would check your fuel tank, check your lines and filters, check your fuel pump. If all those are fine, then start checking electrical. Check your battery's charge, check you plugs and wire and fuses. Those rangers are great trucks, i hope you determine your problem soon. Also check the compression on your valves. If the compression is too low the engine won't start. The compression could be low reasons such as a leaking head gasket, broken timing belt, incorrect timing, broken pistons, burnt or bent valves, etc. Its all a process of eliminations with engines.

Your problem starts with… FORD

Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body, spray carb cleaner into the tb opening, slide hose back on tb, try starting the vehicle. If it starts and runs for a few seconds then dies, its a no fuel problem. If it doesn't start at all, its a no spark problem. No spark is usually caused by a bad crankshaft position sensor, ignition module or ignition switch. Be sure to check any fuses/relays related to all ignition, fuel and ecm(computer)system. If its caused by no fuel, listen for the sound of the fuel pump priming when key is first turned on. If its not heard, check the inertia switch on the passenger side of transmission tunnel or near the kick panel. It has a reset button on it you need to push. If its ok, remove the fuel pump relay, turn key on, test relay harness for battery voltage. If battery voltage isn't present, there's an open/short between the relay and computer or ignition switch.Reinstall relay. If voltage is present, disconnect harness from the fuel pump, test for battery voltage.
