Ford Focus transmission light on, turns over but won't start?

I recently replaced my ignition coil due to a misfire. Ran fine for 2 weeks, today I hit a bump and the tranny/motor shook and it stalled, started it back up and it was misfiring and ran for 30-40 feet then stalled again. Now it won't start at all when I try to start it the transmission warning light comes on (gear with! In the middle). It turns over but won't start.

Tow it to the Ford garage…

Wasn't the ignition coil. When the coil dies it is DEAD. No misfire, no nothing.

FORD: FOUND ON ROAD DEAD

That's quite a litany of troubles, but what is your question, exactly?

It's time to have a mechanic do an inspection

Got two problems the engine and transmission. Since it won't start you can't get it to a auto zone for them to read the codes so we can't help much. Find local shop at ATRA.COM and have them tow it for more diagnosis

I would if possible inspect the part which had been put in. Are connectors secure? I would say that you are well justified if after farting around you have it towed to a mechanic. The car is practically sitting up & begging for it. I would try temporarily disconnecting the battery ground to clear it of any weird notions. If the light comes back on immediately, more reason to take it seriously. Don't forget they will immediately put a code reader on it so this is where the guessing ends.

Inspect the engine and check the park/neutral switch. Make sure the connectors to it are secure. Get a scan tool and check for trouble codes. Spray starting fluid on the intake and try to start. Car does not start, check for spark while cranking. Check if the injectors are getting command to fire with a noid light while cranking. No spark and no command to the injectors, check for a bad crank sensor.

Car starts and dies with starting fluid, get a gauge and check fuel pressure while cranking.

And seriously, how would anyone on the internet be able to troubleshoot that? YOU need an OBDII code reader as a starting point.

The starter CRANKS but the engine DOESN'T turn over. The term 'turn over' literally refers to turning over to the engine from the starter.
That said, SOMETHING was PHYSICALLY dislodged when you hit whatever you hit. You need to reinstall, or possibly replace, whatever that is. Have the car TOWED to someone that can determine what that is.
