2004 ford explorer turns over but will not start?

My car died and can't get it to start it has good spark but i don't know what's going on my dad seems to think it may be the fuel pump but any help would be great

First of all check your oil and fuel. If those are good move on. There are 3 things an engine needs to run; Fuel, Air, and Spark. If you absolutely know you are getting spark then move on to fuel. You can rent fuel pressure gauges from the local auto parts store. Use this to test if your fuel pump is working properly. If this seems to be the case, then make sure you are getting air(Usually not the issue) by taking the cover off your air cleaner and trying to start it without the filter in it. If it runs, you need a new filter, if it doesn't we need to go back to fuel(Unless it is the Mass Air Flow Sensor which is uncommon but possible). We need to make sure your injectors aren't clogged or just aren't firing. If your injectors aren't firing usually an engine light will come on and you will have to take it to a mechanic to have the codes read, and if there's no engine light(Anti-Theft light is also possible) and everything else checks out then I would take it to a mechanic to have them check it out. Because at this point it could be something serious.
