How to get my husbands car out of my name?
My husband has a truck in my name which he is the co-signer. I have better credit so they put me first on the loan. I want it out of my name and into his. I want to get a vehicle for me but I know that with one car loan nobody will give me another one on what I make. I don't know how to go about getting my name off of it and off my credit. We're ahead in payments and have always paid on time, never late. We have been talking about getting me a new car for about 5 months now and its not happening so I want to do it myself with or without him I'm tired of waiting.
Called the loan company and they don't refinance and won't remove my name. But again his truck is already in my name so I can't go car shopping yet… Any thoughts? Trying to get the ball rolling. I drive a ford ranger (I used to have a taurus but my heat went out and it was going to cost a lot to fix compared to buying the ranger with less miles, I let him talk me into buying it) and my 3 year old sits in the front of it we have no space for things and if it rains I can't put stuff in the bed.
You have a couple of options.
1. Pay off the loan and then you can remove your name from the title of the vehicle at the DMV if you choose to.
2. Refinance the vehicle with another bank in your husbands name only. Hopefully his credit has improved.
3. Assuming that you and your husband are planning on staying together. Apply for another auto loan in both your names at another bank. That way you still have two incomes to qualify with.
Same name Htaun Afno negotiations with bank refinancing or perhaps g Arco. NEW Auta only Bato yo. Time Pchi sdaN yall see tpain Afno Afno or credit values Bako g SCC Afno name just a car.
The only way to remove your name is to pay it off or refinance with possibly another bank. It's the only way. Or you could try shopping for a car in his name I assume his credit has improved since yall are always on time with his truck.
Pay off the truck then refinance it with your husband's credit if you need the money.
Assuming adequate credit and income, The rule of thumb is two people two open auto loans.
The only way to get a loan "out of your name" is for it to be paid off.
You are family it will be fine with new loan.
Try and refinance with a different bank
Pay it off
PAY IT OFF FIRST
Buy a Towing towing on his name and write "Husband Towing truck" as model name
Talk to the bank.
Go to the dmv and change the ownership solely to him after you work out the details with the loan company
Sorry pay it off
First search around for a credit union or bank that will give him a loan in his name. If he is refused by three there's no option but to leave your name on. However if he gets a written loan commitment sufficient to pay of the balance do the following:
Ask the new lender how to coordinate payoff of your existing loan. During that process obviously don't add your name to the new loan/don't cosign. If you want husband to be sole owner and be able to sell truck without your input/signature just title it w/DMV in his name. If you want to have joint ownership of the vehicle title it John Smith and Mary Smith. If you want it so either can sign off to sell it title it John Smith OR Mary Smith. Beware since loan is in his name and vehicle is security for the loan it can be repossessed and sold to satisfy the balance without your consent. If you want to eliminate all liability put it in his name only.
- How to get rid of my car without a title, but with the registration in my name? I have a 1998 Ford Taurus. The whole purchase in 2006 was a little shady, and I never acquired the title. Furthermore, the title has a lien on it. I bought it off the street from some guy and I never got the title from him (What was I thinking, yes I know). Long story short, no one has ever claimed it since 2006, I've had it since, and I want to get absolutely rid of it now, and I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
- Can i get out of a ford lease early? Or get a new car early? After my 2004 GTO broke down, i was forced to lease a 2014 Focus, for 3 years and had to get extended miles. Its been about 5 months since i've had the car and so far i hate it. Slow, cheaply made, stereo is terrible, no traction in winter, i don't like it at all. Is there any chance of getting out of the lease early or turning it in without hurting my credit, or even turning it in to lease a different car. Possibly a truck or taurus. Has anyone else been in this situation?
- What did you name your mustang or what is your mustangs name? I just bought a 2006!dark blue Ford Mustang and I named it Sally. She's named after the first bar I ever went to which is called Mustang Sally's, and it happen to be my favorite bar. What did you name yours or what is yours named?
- What should I name my car? Just got a 2013 Ford fusion. Beautiful dark blue with black interior. It's sleek and sexy so I'd like it to be along those lines lol…
