How to get rid of my car without a title, but with the registration in my name?
I have a 1998 Ford Taurus. The whole purchase in 2006 was a little shady, and I never acquired the title. Furthermore, the title has a lien on it. I bought it off the street from some guy and I never got the title from him (What was I thinking, yes I know).
Long story short, no one has ever claimed it since 2006, I've had it since, and I want to get absolutely rid of it now, and I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
Maybe you can find another clueless dimwit who will buy a car without a title. You are legally required to provide a clear title to the buyer.

What you are really asking is how do you get rid of some guy's car.
It's not your car, because if you never acquired the title, then it's not your car. Paying "some guy" does not make it your car. Getting the car does not make it your car. Getting the title is the only thing that can make it your car. If that didn't happen, then it's not your car.
You can't 'legally' sell or junk a vehicle that has a lien on it. Besides, If you paid somebody for a vehicle with a lien, on it, your "seller" had no right to "sell" you the car in the first place and you have had no right to possess or to drive it. It is somebody else's vehicle.
But… Your explanation lacks something here. It makes no sense. How can you renew a registration to somebody else's vehicle? Please explain.
