Would a new fuel pump solve my problem?

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger 3.0L and has recently had issues starting up. I have to turn the key to ignition about 4 times before it can start normally.

some details:
-The engine cranks completely fine.
-Fuel Filter has been replaced
-Battery is new
-Fuses have been replaced
-Fuel pump relay does work
-once turned off, it will start again perfectly if started directly afterwards

Would a new fuel pump help me out?

Oh

It should. The problem you describe is usually caused by a faulty check valve in the pump. That can be caused by a fuel line or an injector leak that lets the line pressure bleed off also. The pump is the usual cause though.

Yes it will because my friend had exactly same issue as yours and now its gone.

Hi so if you think this is going to be cheap job then think again it is not being a 13 years old truck it will be a money pit.

Consider inpecting the starter motor and fuel lines.

It sounds like a fuel pump problem, but the best thing to do is check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail before you try to start the truck, and then compare that to the pressure after the truck has been started and has just been turned off.

If you are going to do the pump replacement yourself, it is actually easier to remove the bolts holding the bed, unhook the rear light harness, disconnect the fuel filler, and (with assistance) remove the bed. This will give you access to the top of the fuel tank and you can easily replace the pump without having to drop the tank

You have a bad fuel pressure check valve and it is usually built into the fuel pump.
The gas tank likely needs to be taken out to replace the fuel pump assembly on your vehicle so if you are not going to play mechanic just find a good one. If you plan on doing the work yourself go to Advance Auto and by a complete fuel pump assembly.

Cheaper fix, replace the Fuel pump relay. I knew a guy that did that and it worked well for him.

Uhuh

You need a new battery
