1999 Ford Ranger chirping sound?
I was hoping I could get some help on this since I haven't been able to find anything that closely regarded my situation. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0L 6cyl flexfuel manual and have recently noticed a loud chirp-like noise that's produced only when I'm shifting while accelerating. I don't think it's the camshaft synchronizer because the noise only comes once after or during an upshift.
The sound kind of sounds like air is escaping (?) but it also sounds like a chirp. The check engine light has not come on. Hope someone can help me figure this out.
That sounds like the throw out bearing is done & needs replacement. The trans gotta be pulled to replace it, so unless you know the disc & p-plate have at least 50% left to go, do them while your there. If you take the trans inspection cover off, you should be able to spin the bearing by hand, and feel that it's bad.

- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- Why is there a grinding sound when I turn over my 94 ford ranger? Just recently I started to notice my truck would make a terrible grinding sound when I turn over the key. After it turns on it runs perfectly fine. I haven't noticed anything else but that. I don't know what the problem could be.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- I have a 1999 ford ranger and i have coolant in one of my vacuum lines? Its the red line that runs to the egr vacuum mod on the passenger side of the motor. The part that the egr line goes to as well. I'm not sure why I have coolant running through a vacuum line. This causes coolant to run to the egr valve so I need to fix it
