Opinions about a 2007 Ford Crown Vic?
Thinking about buying this 2006 crown vic.
I heard the air ride suspension is a headache to fix.
This seems like a good tough car, they use them for Taxi's don't they?
Most Crown Vics don't have air suspension like Lincoln Towncars do… It's only a headache if you fix it yourself, otherwise it's about $1000 to have done. I'd recommend not getting one with the air suspension.
Yes they're very good, tough cars. Tried and true design, lots of space, comfortable, Ford's bulletproof 4.6 2v V8, and actually get better gas mileage than most think (15/23mpg). Yes they have been sued as taxis and police cars for many years so that gives an idea how tough they are.
I have an '02 Grand Marquis with the rear air ride, 140,000 miles & no problems. The platform is very popular with police & taxi companies, & having one go 300,000 is no big deal.
We have a 2000 model. They are good cars. Yeah, the air ride is kind of weird, but it works on mine so I haven't paid any attention to it. They are pretty easy to work on.
Yes, many were and still are used for taxis and police cars.
- Is my ford crown Vic a v6 or v8? And what is my top speed supposed to be? I have a 99 ford crown Vic police interceptor. I always believed my car was a 4.6L v6. But when I was looking up cars online. It said crown Vic was a v8. So of course I typed in Google a 99 crown Vic police interceptor and it still says 4.6L v8.
- Is Mercury Grand Marquis/Ford Crown Vic a good 1st car? Looking for a first car and I'm really interested in a Grand Marquis/Ford Crown Vic and want to know opinions on the car as a 1st car and in general. They seem to be well maintained and used lightly by a generally older crowd. Opinions?
- Can I use 50/50 Prestone GREEN coolant in a 2008 ford crown vic Police interceptor? The owner's manual recommends using Motorcraft premium Gold Engine coolant with bittering agent (YELLOW COLORED) but is it ok to just use the green stuff?
