Where does the oil leak come from?
I have a 04 ford mustang. I knew my car was leaking, but I wasn't that worried. Yesterday I went to a 3 hours trip, one way of course. When I got to my destination, I saw smoke coming out of one side of my car. It was just a little that I couldn't find the source. Today in the morning, I turn the engine on and notice the oil gauge was at it very Low. I checked the oil level and it was good. Then, I drove back home. Once I was here, I checked for any leaks. Thus I notice the oil pressure sensor was leaking. Then I checked below and saw other part that seems to be leaking. Which made me wonder if both are leaking or just the oil sensor. Here are some pictures.
This is what is under the oil sensor, but a little to the left. (If you see it from the top)
Change the sensor, clean off the oil and then keep an eye out for any more leaks. We'll only be guessing by looking at pictures.
- Oil leak ford mondeo mk3? I have a ford mondeo mk3, over the last few weeks I have had to keep on filling it up with oil. I have to add about a ltr every 100 miles. I can't see a leak and no oil patches and I have no smoke coming out the back. I'm also using alot of coolant i'm guessing cause when the oils low it gets hotter. Any ideas
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
- Ford said i have a minor oil leak and they said if i see smoke take it 2 the nearest shop. What do i do? Ford said i have a minor oil leak and they said if i see smoke take it 2 the nearest shop… What do i do?
- Why did the change oil light just come on in my car after an oil change? We have a 2016 Ford Escape and we just had the oil changed about 1000 miles ago at a Fox Ford near us. The oil light was not on when we went there and was not on after we left. It just came on now with a message saying that the oil needed to be changed. So what is causing this? I know the light doesn't need to be reset because it was not on before the oil change or afterwards until now.
