Oil leak ford mondeo mk3?
I have a ford mondeo mk3, over the last few weeks I have had to keep on filling it up with oil. I have to add about a ltr every 100 miles. I can't see a leak and no oil patches and I have no smoke coming out the back. I'm also using alot of coolant i'm guessing cause when the oils low it gets hotter.
Any ideas
Trade it is as soon as possible.
If both oil and coolant are going then it sounds like the head gasket has failed. The engine is on borrowed time and is at risk of overheating if the coolant level suddenly drops, or total failure if the oil level drops to the point where the oil pressure disappears. By the time the warning light comes on the dash it's usually too late.
Needs to go to a garage to get checked out.
If that amount of oil was being burned then there would be smoke - more than 1 litre of oil added per 1000 miles is excessive and you are adding 10 times that.
If it is not being burned and not ending up in the water then the only alternative is a leak as they are the ONLY places it can go
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
- Is this issue with my 2001 ford mondeo mk3 1.8 LX the transfer box or the gearbox? So recently I have been working on a 2001 ford mondeo 1.8 lx and one of the issues it has is only gear 2 and 4 work now is this the transfer box or the gearbox itself?

- I have a 61 plate Ford Focus mk3 and I've noticed there's a hell of alot of water in the boot where the spare wheel is kept? The rear passenger side floor is also soaking wet so I don't know if these are connected or not. Hopefully someone's has experienced this before and can give me a clue to what it is.
