Old classic cars vs newer classic cars?
I'm looking at a 1974 corvette stingray and I'm thinking about buying it but at the same time i've been looking at f-body and fox body camaros and mustangs I need help narrowing down my decision so I would like to hear your opinions on whether to get the 74 stingray or the f- body and fox body mustangs
I think you are talking about two completely different vehicles, from different eras.
*IMO* the Corvette is something you'd buy and leave it alone, other than normal maintenance and repairs, keeping it stock. It's not really the same type of car before that time period, as the engine selection all went downhill, and aesthetically they might not be as desirable to some.
The Fox body cars are something I'd consider a project/hobby car. I'm not a Ford guy, so i don't know a ton about them, but I suspect there are a TON of aftermarket parts (suspension/brakes and engine/transmission) to make it any way you want.
Thats the way I'd look at it. Either one you are going to have to work on just based on age, but the Fox body mustang is going to be the one you'd want to modernize with all the better technology parts. You can do it with the Corvette, just going to hurt its resale value, where the Mustang will likely not ever have huge collector appeal. Buy new The basic 1974 Corvette Stingray 350 V8 has only 195 H.P. And 275 lb/ft go torque. So it is not a great performance car unless it has the 350 V8 Turbo Fire Special which has 250 H.P. And 287 lb/ft of torque. Or, if it is the 454 V8 which has 270 H.P. And 380 lb/ft of torque. The choice is yours but I would probably choose the Corvette. There's no comparison. In quality, price or looks. How is it you can't tell that?

- What are some current TV reality shows in the United States that restores classic cars that? Are accepting cars for restorations? Like Overhaulin, which is not accepting cars at this time. I want to surprise my husband somehow to get his 54 Ford finished for him and I can't do it on my own. Please include links if you can.
- A newer car with more miles or an older car with less mileage? I have a 1995 honda civic ex coupe with 176,800 miles on it. It's been leased the first few years then my friend drove it until now some city driving some not, I've also put $2000 into it; new radiator, new belts, axle fixed etc. A client then gave me a 2001 ford ranger with 198,000 miles on it. I believe it hasn't had much city driving and it's also had two owners. I think both have gotten into very minor accidents. What car do I keep?
