Is it illegal to drive a unmarked Ford Mustang SSP police car if I'm not a cop?

Okay I found this nice 1993 Ford Mustang SSP police car. It's an unmarked police car used by the Florida Highway Patrol. It is still equipped with lights and sirens and my question is would I be arrested for impersonating an officer (because I'm NOT a cop) for driving a Ford Mustang SSP unmarked police car?

It's not impersonating, unless you dress up like a cop, or try to pull people over. People buy old police cars all the time.

As long as you do not activate the emergency equipment, you are legal. You may want to change the emergency light lenses replacing them with amber ones

You must un-install the lights and sirens or yes you most likely get charged with impersonating and officer

Not a problem. I've had two de-commissioned Crown Vic hiway patrol cars…

You can keep the lights, just as long as they are never turned on, unless you are at an automotive event such as a car show with other old emergency vehicles.

Most likely prior to sale that POS will have its lights and sirens removed.

Pull all of those things off and store them somewhere. You might be able to keep them if you change the light color from red/blue to orange/white. Although, it might just be easier to disconnect or remove it all. The siren might have a P.A. System. That's legal to have as long as it's not used while driving and the siren part isn't used.
