Is it fully possible for 1994 Ford Mustang to be a GT Cobra? - 1

Added (1). The vin number indicates it is a GT, but the engine says cobra; the bumper says cobra; and there are cobra emblems where ponies are supposed to be. I'm clueless when it comes to Mustangs and the car is my fathers. He does not seem to know much about it either. If you have informational links, please share them. I'm looking to start working on it.

It's possible for it to be a Mustang SVT Cobra. It shouldn't have a GT badge.

It's a GT with Cobra badges on it. It's a relatively common practice to remove the GT badges or the generic Mustang badges the GT and V6 have and buy the Cobra badges and Cobra bumper cover and try to pass the car off as a legit Cobra. Most Mustang enthusiasts tend to frown upon that sort of thing and openly mock the people who partake in such behavior

The older mustangs came in 3 types.
Base: V6
GT: V8
Cobra: Supercharged V8

Now, if the VIN says its a GT, then it's a GT. VIN never lies. Another thing, open the hood. If it's a cobra then it will have a supercharger. If it doesn't then it's your regular V8.

  • Possible engine swap from 3.0 to 4.0 on 1994 Ford Ranger XL 4x4 manual? I'm wondering if I can drop a V6 4.0L engine straight into a V6 3.0L Ford Ranger XL? Both are 1994 ford rangers, everything the same as far as model/year just different size engine… And if not, what would need to be converted? I found a 4.0 for $250 with 0 miles so if its as simple as swapping engines/trannys I'm going to go for it… Thanks for help!
  • After running a few minutes my clutch quites fully disengaging? I have a 93 Ford Ranger v6 5sp. I replaced the slave cylinder a few months ago, while I was at it I changed tranny fluid and the clutch. Just recently it has been acting up. At a cold start the clutch works fine, but after a 10 minutes of driving it quits fully disengaging. If I take my foot off the brake it will roll forward like it is half engaged. Any ideas what to do?
  • Would I be able to trade in my 2009 Honda Civic for this 1998 Mustang Cobra? http://www.maximumautosearch.com/1998-Ford-Mustang-SVT-Cobra-Englewood-Colorado-80113/5205315 My dream car has been a Mustang Cobra, I bought the civic because I thought I was going to college but I was denied. Well now I have a really good job and I can afford to have this Cobra. Would I be able to trade it in even though I still owe money on the Civic?
