I crashed my 2016 ford mustang

So, I was driving to the University I attend (the usual) and as I was driving, it started to rain but I could tell my wheels were not gripping onto the ground and my traction control kept going off and within 10 minutes of driving on highway 360, I lost control of the car as I merged to the left lane and spun out and slammed into the highway divider. Then my car proceeded to slam into a chevy truck after ricocheting off the highway divider before coming to a complete stop. It all happened in a blur and I have constant anxiety from it and I can't stop thinking about it. The worst part is that I don't have full coverage and now I have to pay for everything. The money I don't have. I've lost a lot of hope and now I'm just desperate to get another car fast so I can continue driving to my college as I commute there. I never sped, I was on cruise control the whole way but I did not change my tires as I should have. My tires ridges were flat and did not have the surface area to grip on the street in the rain. I have so much regret and I know my car is totaled and my insurance will only pay for the claim the other people filed on me. The damage is too great to get any value from it back and the insurance I called would not help me. My car was towed and is now currently sitting in their yard which I have to pay 25 dollars a day for storage fees. What should I do? Any advice would help.

The good news is that you saved a bunch of money (that you should have spent on insurance.) Right now you have a Mustang that you can't drive. You can fix it up so that it is driveable. Probably most of the damage is cosmetic. You may be starting a series of lessons in car repair.
Or you can sell it as is (basically for scrap).
You might be looking at public transportation or ride sharing for a while.

If you have the money to buy a 2016 Ford mustang and pay it off you must have decent credit. So go to the Nissan place and get yourself a Nissan versa so that you don't repeat the mistake driving a high-powered car in the rain with the cruise control on.

< I was on cruise control the whole way >

Never drive with the cruise control on if it's raining, snowing, etc. Good dry roads only.

< and the insurance I called would not help me >

Sorry but if you elected not to get full coverage, your insurance company won't cover the costs of an accident.

Is the car repairable or a write off? If it's repairable, get it towed to a repair shop. Ask family for help with the costs. If it's a write-off, get to towed to a junk yard and stop the $25/day fees.

So, that's all you learned in college. Ask for all your money back. Slick tires hydroplane easily. You didn't take care of the car you wrecked, so you shouldn't get another one until you are able to see to the upkeep. Why in the hell would any salient creature enter a freeway with their cruise control on. That is beyond stupid.

There are too many holes in your story. I can't believe any of it. Only $25/day storage… That's funny as hell. Some parking lots in San Francisco cost that much, and more.

We all make mistakes. Perhaps your next car will be something you can afford so you can have insurance. Perhaps you will have good tires, pay attention to the idiot lights (because you're an idiot)

You lost control.

Apparently you never read the state driver's handbook or paid attention In driver's education class, otherwise you would have heard of HYDROPLANING and would have known to slow down. Hydroplaning occurs at a speed that is You should have also known that roads can get very slick right after it starts raining especially if it hasn't rained in awhile because of oil build-up on the road. And as you now now driving with worn tires can be dangerous EPC FAIL. Read up and learn

Another EPIC FAIL was not having a car that new fully insured especially if there's still a loan out on it. Just because you're in college is not proof that you are intelligent. Your story confirms that you aren't. No sympathy here.

Advice? Move out here to CA. It rains about four weeks a year here.

  • 2016 Honda Accord Coupe vs 2015 Ford Mustang V6? Which one would be better for a first car? I'm Under 25 so insurance may be a problem for the mustang, I plan to keep the car until I graduate college or a year before that. I also care about looks more than speed. Also I want to know which one is cheaper to maintain since I live in the USA.
  • 2016 Ford Mustang Or Chevy Camaro 2016? Which one is overall better. Which one looks better? I can afford a v8 but I don't want to fill up my gas tank every 3 days because I drive far. Which one do you like the look of more?
  • 2016 ford 5.0 GT Mustang fuel economy? I already drive a mustang and probably get about a weeks worth of gas before I fill up or less. Holds about 14.3 gallons to 15. The question is i'm getting a 2016 GT 5.0 manual Mustang and want to know if it will be worse or about the same, or better?
