I have an 06 ford five hundred?
Got in an accident and airbag deployed. Only damage is the wheel. Half shaft and stuff around there. I tried to start it and it started bairly then died. Then tried starting again and turned over and i got a car with a lock icon on the dash. What is it and is it causing it to not start
The light is the anti theft system but the car isn't starting because the fuel pump cutoff switch was activated during the accident The fuel pump shut-off switch located in the front passenger area in the right upper
corner.of the foot well
To reset the switch:
1. Check the fuel system for leaks.
2. If no leaks are apparent, reset the
switch by pushing in on the reset
button.
3 Turn the ignition ON.
4 Wait a few seconds and return
the key to OFF.
5. Make another check for leaks
6 If no leak found then fuel system is ok
At a guess as the Airbag has deployed it has gone to a "Safe" mode and has locked out the engine starting, Hence the lock on the dash

- Ford Five Hundred tune up time? Wife's car is an 05 Ford Five hundred 3.0 Has around 113,000 miles on it and it is definitely time for a tune up. Shops are quoting me with and without the boots. There's no engine light on yet nor has she reported any difference in drive-ability only the gas mileage has gone down a lot. So should the boots get changed too or not?
