Ford Five Hundred tune up time?

Wife's car is an 05 Ford Five hundred 3.0
Has around 113,000 miles on it and it is definitely time for a tune up. Shops are quoting me with and without the boots. There's no engine light on yet nor has she reported any difference in drive-ability only the gas mileage has gone down a lot. So should the boots get changed too or not?

Which boots, spark plug or CV joints?

Boots upon inspection of them if you are pinching pennies. The mechanic would be glad to diagnose a boot caused failure in a few years, it's a good situation for him money wise. They do fail, it is not uncommon.

Study up on your water pump, search the net for chat about it. I think you will find that is something you need to do right now. The price will probably startle you but failure of the pump on that engine is costing people dearly.

Changing the boots will not actually affect the fuel milage. Take a look and see if they are split or damaged anywhere
