Highest paying car dealership to work for?
Just started a career in the automotive world as a technician for Toyota. After a couple months I decided to leave it for a position as a Parts counter person for a Kia dealership who is paying me a little better.
Now my question is that I want to continue to grow in this field and I want to know which car brand tends to be the absolute best in regards to parts counter? I have a feeling I should one day switch to a Ford or Chevrolet dealership as an experienced parts counter person or even Bmw or porsche?
First of all, If you want to "grow" a career in the motor trade you must be mad to give up a career as a Technician to become a Parts counter assistant. It may be slightly better paid now… But 3 yrs down the road?
A 'Technician' in a BMW or Mercedes dealership is likely to earn more than in a Ford or Kia dealer but a Partsman is just a… Partsman… Earnings are unlikely to be much different between dealerships.
You'll make more as a tech then you will in a parts department. As you know all dealers have different pay scales
There's NO "growth" in this field. The parts counter is pretty much the same no matter where you go, and it's pretty much a dead end job EVERYWHERE.
Brand has nothing to do with it. The dealership mangement and owner sets their own salary schedules based on industry averages.
- What are the requirements to work at a dealership selling cars? I'm 18 years old. What are the requirements to work at a car dealership (ex - Honda, Chevy, Ford) as a salesperson?
- If a dealership lies to me about the work they did does that make the contract null an void? Biought a 03 cummins from mazda ford has a death wobble at 80 mph the parts that the dealership said they changed out are the ones on the recall to which i still have the same problem.
- Should I get a new car or keep paying off my current one? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion with about 58,000 miles on it. I commute to work everyday, and my job requires me to travel, so I've really put the miles on. The original loan amount was $25k, and I have about $14k left on it. I was considering buying a different car and trading in my Fusion. Would that be a stupid idea? Should I just pay the car off?
- Can I take my used car from a used car dealership, to the name brand dealership? I have a 2002 ford explorer, and the fuel level gauge is not working. Do I take it to a regular mechanic, or can I go to a ford dealership? or is there a way to do it myself?
