What do I do when I need brake lines repaired?

I have a 2001 ford focus and one of my rear metal brake lines cracked. I need a 3/16th in diameter and 14inches long metal brake line and can't find it in stores, at dealerships, online or anywhere. I've tried making my own but the flaring kit never works for me, id like to do it myself what do I do?

Check with auto-wrecking yards. If you can't find one there your best bet would be to take it to a shop. You don't want to mess around with safety equipment if you don't know what you're doing.

If you can't find it, YOU'RE looking in the wrong places. Brake lines of many lengths,… And the fittings,… Should be easily available

Most lines sold has different length and has fitting and flared already; you will just have to bend it to fit. They don't usually sell raw lines, if so it'll be like 50ft.

Edit: You go to a local professional parts store with your cracked line and they will come back with straight line with the correct fitting.

Not all flare tools are created equal, snap-on of course is a good one.

Don't laugh but make sure they did not give you a metric flaring tool. You can't use a metric tool to flare a imperial brake line. I'm not saying you did this but it's happened.

But yeah i don't know where you live in Borneo or what but parts store all have a whole rack of different brake line sizes and lengths.

Did you try the Ford dealership? To be honest their OEM parts are not that much more than aftermarket in some cases, And that would be one of the most cases examples, Just buy a brand new OEM section of brake line, Be surprised if it were more than $30 bucks
